Introduction

Wildlife Safari in Bardia National Park is an exciting and memorable journey in the wilderness of Bardia National Park.  If you’re a nature lover or wildlife enthusiast, embarking on a wildlife safari is a must-do in Bardia National Park. Enjoy the 6-night 7-day wildlife safari in Bardia National Park, which is home to over 500 species of birds and wild animals. It is one the popular places to spot wild cats like leopards and tigers, and wild elephants.  One-Horned rhinos,  swamp deer, Gangetic Dolphin, Black Buch, and Gharial crocodiles are other animals in the park. Furthermore, tracking the tiger trails in the park is one of the most thrilling and adventurous activities one needs to experience for a lifetime to know the magnificent Royal Bengal Tiger.

This tour offers special tiger tracking deep inside Bardia National Park. The jeep safari and the jungle walks take you deeper into the forests where the possibility of spotting wildlife including majestic tigers is very high. Going on a journey to Bardia wilderness is certain to come out as one of your most memorable experiences in Nepal. The most significant proof that Nepal is more than just mountains is found in Bardiya National Park. Nepal is home to lush jungles teeming with wildlife besides the towering Himalayan peaks.

The park provides a variety of safari choices to suit your personal preferences. Jeep safaris are popular, but you can also choose from boat safaris on the Karnali River, or escorted walking tours. The various habitats of the park can be seen from a different angle on each kind of safari.

Bardia offers the opportunity to interact with the indigenous Tharu people in addition to the natural beauty of the park. For the same reason, you may either join bicycle wanders to move around the Tharu settlements.  Or take a stroll among the rice fields while taking in the tranquility of the setting. Learn about the various Tharu people’s traditions and customs.

Bardia is the spot to go if you want to get away from the throng and enjoy a calm jungle safari experience. In fact, Bardia National Park is tranquil and serene compared to other national parks in Nepal. You won’t find crowds of excited tourists capturing pictures in all directions. You can walk hours and hours in the wild jungle and encounter only some people or sometimes not even a single person.

The best time to see tigers and other wildlife in Bardia National Park is throughout the warm months of March, April, and May. During the early winter months of September to November, however, there is a decent possibility of seeing them.

The Bardia National Park lies in the southwest part of Nepal. It is the largest national park in Nepal’s Terai zone, covering 968 square kilometers. The park provides an undisturbed area of surroundings for a large number of rare species. Also, the park is the largest wildlife paradise in the lowlands of Nepal. Bardia is the dream destination of wildlife enthusiasts because the park has rich subtropical forests, grasslands, and wetlands. It offers the ideal habitat for wild animals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and butterflies.

Itinerary

Trip Itineraries are customizable according to your choice & the number of days you want to stay. Simply, Contact Us

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal

    Kathmandu (1,300m /4,265 ft)

As soon as your flight lands in Kathmandu, our company representative will meet you and transport you in a private vehicle to either the hotel you pre-booked online or to Thamel, a popular tourist attraction. This service is available to all of our visitors, ensuring that they won’t have to worry about getting lost or having trouble navigating a new foreign country.

After checking in at the hotel, take some time to relax. In the evening, you will receive a briefing regarding the trip and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

  • Day 02: Fly to Nepalgunj and drive to Bardia National Park

    Kathmandu (1,300m /4,265ft) Nepalgunj (150 m/490ft)

After breakfast, we fly to Nepalgunj, where a hotel jeep will meet you and take you on a three to four-hour private drive to Bardia National Park. When we arrive at Bardia, the naturalist will give us an overview of the day’s activities while we have some drinks and lunch. Following that, we’ll visit a Tharu community to learn about their way of life and culture. In the evening, we will enjoy a cultural program of the Tharus people.

  • Day 03: Jeep Safari and Jungle Activities

Start your day by embarking on an exciting jeep safari with an experienced naturalist to discover more of the surroundings. As a result, you will get the chance to witness bigger animals like tigers, rhinoceroses, and elephants. In some locations, we can get out of the vehicle and go on a nature walk. This enables you to get up close and personal with the wildlife while learning about small flora and fauna. Today will be the most full-day jeep safari with a packed picnic lunch and many pauses at watchtowers and wildlife watering spots. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the sounds of the jungle at a designated place in the park.

  • Day 04: Bird Watching and jungle walk

Early morning is a good time to go bird-watching in Bardia National Park. Early in the morning and late in the day right before the sun sets are the greatest times to go on a rafting or jungle walk to spot birds. The park is home to a variety of bird species that holds 407 species of resident and migratory birds including Bengal Florican, Lesser Florican, and Sarus Crane that you can encounter. Join your guide on a birding tour to see and distinguish various species of birds.

Jungle Walks are the best alternative ways to explore the Bardia National Park. Sometimes, the sounds of jeep may scare away most of the animals resulting in no wildlife spotting.  Alternatively, a  jungle walk provides an opportunity to encounter many wild animals without disturbing them. For a good chance of sighting animals, we will head deep into the park in the direction of the banks of the Karnali River. You will also be going nearby the swamps where you can watch wild water buffaloes and marsh muggers, etc. by the river.

Head back to your lodge to relax and freshen up after an adventurous day.

  • Day 05: Elephant bathing and canoe riding

Today, we will be enjoying the Elephant bathing, playing, and bathing with the elephants in the river.  One should miss the elephant bathing that offers exciting entertainment to the visitors at Bardia. The viewers are very entertained by a glimpse of an entertaining elephant bathing and playing with humans, people riding on an elephant ride, and an elephant showering water on them from its nose.  Get chilled out taking a dip into the river with the elephants.

Also, we will enjoy canoe riding in the Karnali River to encounter the riverside scenarios. The best times to watch birds are early morning and late afternoon, just before the sun sets, during a forest walk or rafting adventure. The park may be viewed from a completely different angle than by jeep or on foot, and it’s your best chance to see crocodiles and other aquatic creatures, along with the flying birds above the rivers.

Sometimes,  you can catch a glimpse of even the Royal Bengal Tiger and The One-horned Rhinoceros at the river’s edge that comes occasionally to quench their thirst in the river. We occasionally stop the boat for short walks in regions where there is a lot of wildlife. We will be enjoying the packed lunch today as well with the sounds of chirping birds and flowing rivers amidst the jungle.

There are a few minor rapids, but for the most part of the day, the boat journey is smooth. It’s not the extreme rafting like in the white water rafting with the rapid flow ride.  You can combine river boating with fishing as well if you enjoy fishing.

In the evening, enjoy the stunning sunset view reflecting its colorful golden light on the river and a canoe rider and the flying birds over the river returning to their home.

  • Day 06: Drive to Nepalgunj and Fly to Kathmandu

Depending upon your flight schedule, we will have breakfast and drive to the Nepalgunj airport and fly back to Kathmandu. After you reach Kathmandu, we will check you in the same hotel in Thamel. A city stroll and souvenir shopping and drinks are a good way to spend the rest of the day. In the evening, we will take you to the farewell dinner and listen to your wildlife tour experiences.

  • Day 07: Final Departure

It’s time to say farewell to Nepal. Take advantage of your final few hours to the fullest in Kathmandu. Spend some time exploring the city’s twisting alleyways and temples one last time, and purchasing one last souvenir for your beloved ones waiting for you.

A representative will meet you at your hotel and drop you at the airport according to the flight schedule for your return flight home. It’s good to be at the airport at least 2 hours before your departure.

Great Experience SUSAN JOY BROWN United Kingdom

Great Experience

Excellent safari in Chitwan and Bardia. Very professional company and we were looked after really well. Communication was easy and fast response. The guides on the safaris were brilliant and the accommodation was excellent. Within 25 days, we completed the Langtang-Helambu trek, a private tour of Chitwan, and Bardia. Can’t rate them highly enough.

The Absolute Best There Is !!

I’ve been to 28 different countries and countless safaris over the world- let me tell you that this is the standard for every other safari I’ve been on since! The attention to detail, the absolute love and care of the guides, and the tour operator’s genuine wish for you to have the best experience possible made this one of the most amazing tours/safaris I’ve been on. It was just as amazing to meet the locals and meet the Tharu people as it was to see the rhino and to be close up with an elephant!! (And That tiger that kept in front of our raft to cross the river!!) As an experienced traveler, take my word that you will have a genuinely wild and carefree adventure!!!🤩🥳
