Cliff Hanging at Kakani Rock Fest is a rock climbing and bouldering festival recently held at Kakani. Holding hand to hand, sharing shoulder-to-shoulder, rock climbing adrenaline junkies have successfully started the Kakani Rock Climbing and Boulder Fest on February 20 and 21, 2024. With the support of local bodies of Kakani and the hard work of the rock climbing communities of Nepal, a new rock climbing spot at Kakani was recently discovered.

Undoubtedly, this new adventure sport at Kakani has added to its attraction places for outdoor enthusiasts, especially rock climbers and hikers. This spot has provided a new playground for rock climbers of any level. It has multiple boulders and top rope climbing at the same spot to have a cliffhanger experience.

The climbing spot lies in the middle of the lush pine forests. You can enjoy the stunning sunrise and sunset in the harmony of fresh country air. And you can enjoy the overlooking backdrop views of villages, terrace farming, rivers, hills, and mountains. On the hilltop at an elevation of about 2,030 meters, Kakani is a well-known tourist destination. It is famous for hiking, biking, and strawberry farming.

Kakani offers spectacular panorama vistas of the mountains ranging from the Annapurna, Manaslu, and Ganesh to the Jugal Himalayan Range. It is the perfect place to spend the weekend and escape the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu city. It is very close to Kathmandu and is reachable in 1-2 hours of drive.

The other rock climbing areas in Nepal are Nagarjun Forest, Hattiban, Nagarkot, and Bimal Nagar. Suntakhan Boulders is also another new name for boulder climbing among the climbers.
